A client of ours is seeking a reliable Janitor / Sanitation Worker to maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards within a food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for cleaning production areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate has experience in janitorial work, preferably in a food processing or industrial setting.
Your Day
Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of production floors, equipment exteriors, hallways, offices, and shared areas.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and disinfect surfaces to meet food safety and OSHA standards.
Clean restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure proper sanitation.
Remove trash, recycling, and production waste throughout the facility.
Operate basic janitorial equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and pressure washers (training provided if needed).
Clean and maintain employee common areas - break rooms, locker rooms, cafeterias.
Follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and company sanitation protocols.
Properly store cleaning chemicals and maintain accurate usage logs as required.
Inspect assigned areas and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
Support special cleaning projects, seasonal deep cleaning, or audits as needed.
Your Experience
Previous janitorial, sanitation, or custodial experience (food facility experience preferred).
Understanding of cleaning chemicals, PPE, and safe handling procedures.
Ability to work independently and follow structured cleaning schedules.
Must be able to lift 25 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to follow GMPs, food safety rules, and company policies.
Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused.
Preferred Skills
Experience in food manufacturing or industrial janitorial work.
Knowledge of sanitation procedures for food facilities.
Ability to operate floor scrubbers, buffers, or other cleaning equipment.
Basic English reading skills (for labels, safety instructions, logs).
