Your Job
Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
• Take directions from the Farm Manager and Herd Manager
• Daily feeding and watering, assisting with the care of horses
• As needed, move or help treat cattle
• Checking, maintaining, building, and repairing fences
• Mowing lawns, fields, clearing downed trees
• Maintain, operate, and repair Irrigation systems, plumbing
• Complete other general labor tasks as needed
• Operate and maintain the following equipment: Trailers flat bed; horse/cattle trailer-Tractor and attachments-Quad-Weed eater -Chainsaw
• Follow farm safety guidelines
Your Day
You will work with our experienced farm manager. In addition to working with horses and cattle, you will be clearing and hauling brush, building and repairing fence, working with water delivery systems, haying and assisting in all aspects of ongoing maintenance. The successful candidate will be dependable, a willing learner interested in expanding their knowledge of horse and cattle management, prepared to participate in every or any task required to keep the animals safe and the farm operating. Have a clean driving record and meet the physical demands of farm work outdoors, year-round in the Central Valley. Looking for an individual that is task orientated, takes instructions well, and has positive attitude. Require flexible hours and some overtime during busy seasons. Weekends on occasion.
Your Experience
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of experience on farming/ranching operation
• Valid driver's license, clean DMV record and reliable transportation
• Knowledge and experience with horses and cattle
• Experience operating tractors and other farming equipment
• Ability to speak, read and understand English language
• Agriculture-related education a plus
