Labor Finders has multiple openings for Diesel Mechanics for long-term work on multiple sites in and around Jacksonville. We are looking for skilled and reliable candidates experienced in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment.
Duties may include:
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems
• Performing preventative maintenance and service on trucks, heavy equipment, and machinery
• Using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues
• Rebuilding, replacing, or repairing worn or damaged components
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and service reports
• Following all safety and environmental regulations while keeping work areas clean and organized
• Working independently or as part of a team to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely
Your Day
Start times typically range between 5 AM and 7 AM, with shifts lasting about 8 to 10 hours. Work may be performed in a shop or on-site depending on the assignment. Candidates must be prepared to work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors. Reliable transportation and good communication with the office for job assignments are required. Work is short term to start, with long-term potential for dependable, high-performing associates. Pay is based on experience, skill, and performance feedback.
Your Experience
• Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience required
• Experience with heavy trucks, construction equipment, or industrial diesel engines preferred
• Ability to read technical manuals and interpret schematics
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems
• Skilled in safe use of diagnostic and power tools
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
