Labor Finders is currently seeking an experienced Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity in the Tallahassee area. We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable candidate with strong construction accounting experience and the ability to manage multiple financial responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualified candidates should have experience with job cost accounting, project accounting with familiarity in percentage of completion reporting, AIA billing, job costing, and heavy equipment tracking/costing. Extensive experience using Sage 100 is highly preferred. Candidates should also possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in daily accounting operations.
Your Day
Shift hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This position will be based in the Tallahassee area and will involve supporting daily accounting and financial operations for construction-related projects. Daily responsibilities may include processing invoices, managing project costs, tracking equipment expenses, preparing reports, handling billing processes, and assisting with financial documentation and recordkeeping.
Candidates should be prepared to work in a professional office environment while maintaining communication with management, project teams, and vendors as needed. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are required. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidate. Pay is based on experience, qualifications, attendance, and overall performance.
Your Experience
Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience required, with construction accounting experience strongly preferred. Candidates must have experience with Sage 100, job costing, project accounting, and AIA billing. Experience tracking heavy equipment costs and understanding percentage of completion accounting methods is highly desired. Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills are required.
