Labor Finders Ready to Help with Back-Up Plan for Volvo Employees Facing Layoffs as Mack Truck Sees 1st Strike in 35 YearsOctober 22, 2019
Palm Beach Gardens, FL—Thousands of Volvo employees whose jobs have been placed in limbo due to the on-going contract negotiations between AB Volvo-owned Mack Truck and the United Auto Workers (UAW).
The strike began on October 12 after the expiration of the UAW’s contract on October 1. There were several short contract extensions but both sides could not reach a deal leaving roughly 3,000 employees in employment limbo.
Labor Finders can place these employees with jobs right now. And, more importantly these employees will have that all-important paycheck in their hands by the end of their workday.
“We are all hopeful for a timely resolution to the on-going negotiations. We are also aware that these employees have immediate responsibilities such as paying bills and putting food on the table,” said Jeffrey Burnett, President and CEO of Labor Finders. “We have offices in their areas which have the capability to assist in obtaining jobs for them immediately.”
