LARGEST TEMPORARY-STAFFING COMPANY IN THE U.S. ANNOUNCES WINNER OF
ITS ANNUAL “EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR” CONTEST, HONORS SARALAND RESIDENT

— “One-of-a-Kind” Worker With a Big Heart and an Even Bigger Family
Receives Special Mother’s Day Treat for Her Positive Attitude and Dedication —

SARALAND, AL (May 7, 2024) — Labor Finders, the oldest and largest privately held industrial staffing company in the U.S., today announced its “Employee of the Year” winner. With nominations spanning hundreds of staffing branches across the country, Jane Hockaday of Saraland, AL, is the 2024 national winner.

Throughout her decade-long career with Labor Finders, Ms. Hockaday has worked in various roles and industries, including housekeeping, construction clean-up, landscaping, hospitality, server, mover, driver, and road-flagger, the last for which she recently has become state-certified through Labor Finders. The company’s annual contest marks the 14th consecutive year that Labor Finders has recognized an outstanding temporary associate from among its 67,000-person workforce. However, this year’s honor is especially significant with Mother’s Day on the horizon: Ms. Hockaday will be celebrated by her two children, 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

“Since launching almost 50 years ago, our company has been ‘driving success and changing lives,’ and Jane Hockaday delivers on that mission with her unparalleled work ethic and positive attitude,” said Jeffrey Burnett, CEO of Labor Finders. “We strongly believe that our temporary associates are the best in the staffing industry, and this annual award is a meaningful way for us to celebrate our best-in-class talent.”

As Labor Finders’ “Employee of the Year” winner, Ms. Hockaday will be awarded a $3,000 check, along with a commemorative plaque. Under the leadership of branch manager Karen Yates, the Saraland office will also be recognized for its efforts, receiving the second annual “Newt Burnett Changing Lives Award,” named after Labor Finders’ founder. Additionally, Ms. Hockaday will represent Labor Finders as the company’s nominee for the American Staffing Association (ASA) Employee of the Year award, a prestigious recognition given to an outstanding temporary or contract employee in the staffing industry.

A highly sought-after employee, Ms. Hockaday has received numerous offers to bridge her temporary employment to permanent employment for several of her delighted clients, but she prefers the flexibility that Labor Finders offers. Previously, she served as a registered minister, and while her faith is still important to her, Labor Finders has provided a new platform for her to spread goodwill to her colleagues and clients alike.

“I love working at Labor Finders because it offers me the flexibility to pick the jobs I want and also spend time with my growing family," said Ms. Hockaday. "I just try to take love and humility with me wherever I go, and my Labor Finders branch team genuinely cares about the employees they place. Being recognized as their 2024 Employee of the Year makes me feel both grateful and humbled."
